Hampi is one of India’s strongest heritage-landscape photography locations. The ruined capital of Vijayanagara sits within a dramatic terrain of granite boulders, temple complexes, old bazaars, river edges, tanks, gateways, and open plains. For photographers, Hampi is powerful because architecture and landscape work together: stone temples rise from boulder fields, small human figures add scale to massive ruins, and the Tungabhadra River adds reflection, movement, boats, and daily rhythm. The best frames often come from walking slowly between monuments, riverfront points, hill viewpoints, and old bazaar lines.
